I AM the next American Idol
I got to meet Kristen's betrothed and see their new home as well as partake in furniture shopping not to mention seeing her in her wedding gown as she was having her bridal portraits done. (Gor-ge-ous!!)
While I was there, I had the opportunity to learn that I suck at Guitar Hero ... even when the guitar is 'strung' for a lefty. Eh, practice, practice, practice??? It's all about the timing.
But Kristen and I went head-to-head in American Idol...three rounds. Luscijax v. Prynncez (love our names?! Wish I had pictures of our singers.) Poor Kristen was ill due to allergy issues, so we'll have to have a rematch for sure as I won the competition. Although, I think when it comes to originality, Kristen definitely had me beat. Instead of singing the actual lyrics to one song, she began her own song about her allergies and how craptastic she felt to the beat of the song. Me on the other hand had a great time singing ... off key ... although I think I was pretty on point when singing Hemorrhage by Fuel (great song, great band) It'll have to be my AI Finals song choice for the rematch as well. :)
I also had a second opportunity to sit around a table with ... a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks ... engaged in great conversation. (need to do this more often) I look forward to going back in three weeks...

Dorks R Us
The Cheesecake Factory was hilarious as we had the 'privilege' of watching this couple manhandle each other and pretty much make out right there in the restaurant. One couple who was seated next to them actually asked to be moved ... sadly, we were stuck as we were there first. The server was great and what fun two girls with the same name can get into when plastic is involved. "For you Ms. Pate and for you...Ms. Pate" followed by a look of confusion was quite comical. Yeah, so we have the same name. :)
I commented on how funny it would be if we ended up marrying men with the same last name. Then we'd be Sarah Pate Whatever ... or if we married men whose last name was Pate. Then we'd be Sarah Pate Pate. Even worse would be if we hypenated our last name...cause then we'd be Sarah Pate-Pate. I'm giggling even as I type...
I also found that it IS possible to drink Starbucks. The lesson I've learned is: Don't drink a white chocolate mocha on an empty stomach after flying on an airplane! (That's a completely different story though)
So here we are...us two gals:

Here are us two silly girls:
And here are two 'dorks' (aww yeah):
(Yeah, the question of 'how many Sarah Pate's does it take to take a photo? The answer actually is two...I attempted to set the timer, but forgot to 'take the picture' and commented on how remedial I felt. After a sea of laughter...Sarah decided that would be our next t-shirt REMEDIAL) :P

"Albert Camus once wrote, "Blessed are the hearts that can bend; they shall never be broken." But I wonder if there's no breaking then there's no healing, and if there's no healing then there's no learning. And if there's no learning then there's no struggle. But struggle is a part of life. So must all hearts be broken?"

Six Degrees of ... D'oh!
Being Type A, you'd think it would make more sense for me to do alpha order - but no, I think this is more logical...and fun! So yesterday, I took it upon myself to attempt the same with my DVD's. It proved to be a bigger challenge than first thought.
Some decisions were simple...for example, Julia Roberts goes next to Matt Damon. Yeah, they may have been in Ocean's Eleven together, which I do not have, but I DO have Mystic Pizza. (Matt's first movie role - a mere one liner.)
Take Xanadu - you would think - oh, easy...that one stands by itself as I don't own any other Olivia Newton-John movies (nope, not even Grease), but you'd be wrong. I recently learned that Aldolfo "Shaba Doo" Quiones was a dancer in the film...and he played Ozone in Breakin' (LOVE IT!)...AND was the choreographer for Kickin' It Old Skool with Michael Rosenbaum...
I also discovered some links where just one movie was missing to connect the dots. For example, Because I Said So stars Mandy Moore...who was in A Walk To Remember, which was a novel written by Nicholas Sparks, who wrote The Notebook with Ryan Gosling. I've seen A Walk To Remember and it was a good movie...so I guess I should go buy it now to complete the link. :)
Election - Matthew Broderick - Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Pleasantville - Tobey Maguire - Spiderman
Just Like Heaven - Mark Ruffalo - 13 Going On 30
Sweet Home Alabama - McDreamy himself, Patrick Dempsey - Grey's Anatomy AND - Melanie Lynskey - Ever After (you know the nicer of the two evil stepsisters, who when the movie came out people thought we looked alike)
And once I buy Walk The Line ANOTHER link would be Tyler Hilton, who played Elvis Presley in the film but also played Chris Keller on One Tree Hill.

Why is it that there are three flavor pouches but only TWO Lik-A-Stix?
The Lik-A-Stix is the best part of Fun Dip anyhow.
Just wondering...

M.A.S.H.
I'm sure many of you remember this game from our youth. (Not sure if guys played this game, but I know us girls certainly did!) Well, the game is still active as my niece 'introduced' me to it...and here are the results:
I marry Michael Rosenbaum and we honeymoon in Michigan. We live in a House in Georgia. I make $1 Million a year as a Mom and have 9 1/2 kids (yeah, how do you have the 1/2? (I asked the same thing) She said it was a standard answer and I just got "lucky" with that many kids - but you know...if I'm making a million dollars, I could certainly afford 9 1/2 kids...haha?!) I go to UNC Chapel Hill for college (YAY Tarheels!) and I have a cat as a pet. 7 is my lucky number.
So there is my future - in the hands of an 11 year old. I expected her to whip out a paper fortune teller, but no such luck. :)
